We believe there is no better feeling than seeing trust and cooperation reaffirmed.
This trust was reaffirmed when our client approached us after 12 years of flawless operation of the existing system and millions of successfully issued documents, requesting the implementation of a new, improved version.
As one of our company's first IDMS projects was developed for this client, continuing our cooperation holds particular significance for us.
How did it all start?
Our cooperation with North Macedonia began with the successful implementation of the National System for Issuing Personal Documents in 2007.
The project marked an important achievement for both sides. For us, it demonstrated our expertise and ability to deliver a complex system of national importance. For North Macedonia, it represented a significant step towards digitalization, establishing a secure, reliable and efficient national identification system.
The system was designed to support the issuance of identification documents, including ID cards, passports and driver's licenses, as well as user cards enabling secure access for authorized personnel, such as operators and controllers.
Since 2007, millions of ID cards, passports, driver's licenses and user cards have been issued through the system.
Following its implementation, our cooperation continued through ongoing system maintenance. Over the years, the system has operated reliably, without requiring major interventions by our team.
The Prespa Agreement and Continued Cooperation
With the Prespa Agreement coming into force, the country was renamed the Republic of North Macedonia. This significant change required extensive administrative adjustments across various sectors, including updates to citizens' identification documents.
These developments led to a new project aimed at implementing the necessary changes while further improving the efficiency and security of the existing system.
The project's objective is to deliver a solution that supports the country's new name and the accompanying legislative requirements.
In addition to updating the country's name on identification documents, the project also aims to support document issuance in the languages of national minorities.
Citizens belonging to the Serb, Turkish, Roma, Vlach, Bosnian, Albanian and Romanian minorities will be able to obtain identification documents in both Macedonian and their respective minority languages.
The project also addresses changes to driving licence categories, incorporating these requirements into a unified and consistent solution.
Security and Safety as an Imperative
Alongside these administrative changes, another key objective is to enhance the components responsible for system security.
When working with sensitive personal data, security is essential, and protecting that information remains a priority throughout the project.
Following system setup, an important next step will be migrating the existing data to the new infrastructure. This process requires careful planning and execution to ensure that the migration is completed efficiently and accurately.
Given the sensitivity of the information involved, this phase carries particular responsibility. Any errors in handling the database could have consequences for the citizens who rely on the system.
The renewed trust placed in our team confirms the value of our expertise and the experience we have developed over the years.
We take pride in building long-term partnerships that continue to evolve, strengthen and develop through ongoing cooperation.
